Special Thanks to...
The Thoroughbred's Hero
FLTAP would like to express a special thanks to Becky Bates, owner of Hasty Hills Farms, for her hard work and dedication in finding new homes and careers for thoroughbreds from Finger Lakes Racetrack. A successful horse trainer for over three decades, Becky has made a name for herself in the horse community as one of the best horse trainers in the area, as well as being a hard working and kind individual who is always there to lend a helping hand. Becky Bates has a well-deserved reputation for being a wonderful and caring horsewoman. Described as one who can "get to the bottom of what each horse needs individually," her training techniques have taught a countless number of horses how to do their job well and love what they do. Becky has a tremendous passion for the heart and intelligence of thoroughbreds, and it is said that she "never gives up on a horse." She has re-homed hundreds of thoroughbred from the track and trained many of them to be successful, competitive show horses. "If you have a thoroughbred with potential for the show ring, you go to Becky," a friend of hers said, "and if there is an animal to be rescued, she's the one I call." Her farm, Hasty Hills, is known for high quality horses. People who have dealt with Becky respect her honesty when selling horses, and say she always has the best interest of the horse at heart. Located on a gorgeous 38-acre farm, her barn houses roughly 50 or 60 horses at a time. Becky's kind patience and knowledge has been passed down to her daughter, Jaime George. Hasty Hills is a family-run operation, with Jaime following in her mother's footsteps and making a name for herself in the local horse community. We would like to make sure that Becky's determined effort has not gone unnoticed. The example of Becky's dedication inspires other to help more and more homeless horses each year. Every time she takes a horse home, that's one less that we have to worry about, because we know they are in good hands for sure. When the Hasty Hills trailer pulls in or out of the track, they are either delivering horses they have prepared for racing or picking up a new project that is getting a second chance at a new life. From the bottom of our hearts, FLTAP would like to express a sincere thanks to Becky Bates. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed. Thank you.
